Apply the oil to the skin and massage in long strokes. For a more comfortable experience, massage away from the heart rather than towards it. Alternate gentle caresses with firmer strokes and higher pressure, making sure any muscle tension is released.
For an enhanced experience, warm the massage oil in a bain-marie before applying it to the body. Pour the oil you intend to use into a small glass and place it in a bowl with a little hot water for five minutes. Hot tap water at around 45 degrees Celsius will do. This also releases some of the essential oils into the air, creating a wonderful atmosphere with the chosen fragrance.
